The Residential Towers project in Mumbai presented three key challenges for Radius Developers. “One of the first issues we faced on the project was how to collaborate across all involved disciplines-particularly between architects and contractors,” says Radius Developers., Principal Architect – Radius Developers. Coordination with clients, critical to complete the loop, added another layer to the information exchange. This included the developer group’s keen desire to survey multiple design options such as room and cluster layouts, material and color palettes and furniture arrangements, which had to be duly accounted for in the scheme’s progression before its finalization.
Design is the foundation of Radius Developers business. It is important that this vision can be demonstrated to inspire clients. Using Autodesk Revit we are able to produce an interactive yet flexible representation of every element involved in this mega project. Advance features in Revit give power to team members to alter many variables and produce options that responded to our brief while also providing real-time feedback that ensured Radius Developers team stuck to stringent sustainable design requirements. “When using BIM for facilities management of existing buildings, you don’t need all the details that go into construction. We especially wanted accurate representations of interiors and elements that contribute to energy consumption.”
Increase Coordination and Quality
And, because Revit Architecture is purpose-built for BIM, anytime the designers made a change, anywhere, the change was automatically coordinated everywhere in the project. “This synchronization led to good coordination between team members, consultants, and engineers.
The Autodesk BIM solution provides a secure, centralized repository for project and process information that satisfies the information needs of all parties till the execution of the project. It helped Radius Developers to handle more sophisticated projects while effectively maximizing the productivity and operational efficiency of its global organization.
